“The PrimaLuna EVO 300s are my Hybrid Reference Amps.” Stefan Krawczyk

Hi Everybody!
Since the very beginning of PrimaLuna, Stefan Krawczyk has been a proud owner and enthusiast user of our PrimaLuna products! Over the years, he has acquired various PrimaLuna models –starting with a ProLogue One!- and has closely followed our journey. When a new model is released, Stefan is one of the first to reach out for more information—or sometimes, we’re contacting him! It’s safe to say that he is a true PrimaLuna connoisseur. You can find PrimaLuna models in –several!- of his audio systems. Proudly at work with Theta, Sonus faber, Playback Designs, Franco Serblin Studio Ktêma, and other high-quality brands.
We were again in touch with Stefan when we finished the design of our PrimaLuna EVO 300 Hybrid Poweramp. For quite a while now, he has been using a pair of EVO 300 Hybrid Poweramps –in mono- and he has even written a comprehensive review about his experience with them, which he will soon publish (he reviewed for HVT before) on his new blog, “Le Journal de l’Audiophile” (everything in French as well as English and PDFs of every article). In parallel, the English versions of the reviews will land on an international-oriented website. But Stefan has already shared his conclusion with us, and here’s what he had to say:
“I love my PrimaLuna tube amps and the sheer endless possibilities of tweaking and tube rolling they provide—not to mention their affordability and reliability. So, they are definitely staying in my system. However, the EVO 300 Hybrids have added an extra dimension, like PrimaLunas on steroids. They are just totally addictive with their presence, power, and transparency, regardless of which loudspeakers I threw at them. And since they are, at their level, as affordable and reliable as their all-tube brethren, I did not hesitate for a second to add them to the family. I couldn’t bear to see them go. They are that good, and I know I would have to spend a truckload more to get something only marginally better—if at all. In other words, I didn’t change my winning team. The team just got a bit bigger. As of now, the EVO 300s are my hybrid reference amps.”
Of course, such wonderful words from Stefan wouldn’t be complete without photos of his stunning music system! His PrimaLuna EVO 400 Tube Preamplifier, paired with a set of PrimaLuna EVO 300 Hybrid Poweramps, drives –in this case- the magnificent Sonus faber Guarneri speakers.
Stefan’s full review of the EVO 300 Hybrid Poweramps will be published soon, and we will, of course, share it with you here!
A massive Thank You to Stefan!
